ESSL ART AWARD CEE 2015
The ESSL ART AWARD CEE is open for young artists at the outset of their careers in Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Hungary. It is endowed by the Essl Museum and the main shareholder of VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP. In each country, the Nominees’ Exhibition presents ten artists selected by an international jury. The Nominees’ Exhibitions will be inaugurated from 11 May until 12 June 2015. At the opening event, two artists per country receive the ESSL ART AWARD CEE, which is endowed with EUR 3500 and includes an invitation to the group exhibition Diversity of Voices held at the Essl Museum in Klosterneuburg near Vienna. The VIG SPECIAL INVITATION from Wiener Städtischer Versicherungsverein, the main shareholder of VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP, will be extended to one artist per country, a distinction which includes a production fee of EUR 1,000 and an invitation to take part in a group exhibition at the group headquarters in Vienna.
In the eight participating countries, the ESSL ART AWARD CEE has become established as a forward-looking project in support of young talents. The more than 500 entries by art students for this year’s award and the very active co-operation with more than 40 art academies in the region afford ample testimony of that fact.
